Sign Express (Falkirk) were contacted by two of the Scottish ski companies, the Lecht and Glenshee to carry out a complete sign survey.

The project was to recommend the best type of signs to accommodate the severe weather conditions while giving equal prominence to both Gaelic and English . The final designs and translations were approved by Comunn na Gàidhlig.

Comunn na Gàidhlig is a Scottish organisation which aims among other things to incorporate Gaelic in the business community in Scotland. Organisations and companies are able to access funding up to 60-80% of total costs towards bilingual signs whether inside or on the outside of premises. Bilingual signs are a positive way of promoting business and services through the Gaelic language which will enhance and add to the uniqueness and individuality of the company and area.

The majority of the signage for Glenshee was mainly external and included:

• A double sided feature entrance sign constructed from pressure treated timber and galvanised steel

• Flat cut aluminium painted letters

• Double sided timber projecting signs

• Aluminium composite panels with vinyl detail for the 14 tows, ski hire and ticket sales.

For the Lecht Ski Company Signs Express (Falkirk) produced both internal and external signage which included:

• A complete internal directory system for their recently constructed building produced from Slatz system.

• Aluminium composite panels for their main signage, ski tows and external directory signs.

• Flat cut painted aluminium letters on the main building

From first contact at the end of 2008, all signs were fitted by the end of January 2009 for both companies.

Signs Express (Falkirk) were later contacted by Comunn na Gàidhlig to produce and install signage for Glencoe Ski Centre for a wide range of external bi-lingual signs which was successfully completed in May 2009. Signage included:

• Free standing signs at main entrance

• Digitally printed piste map signs

• Finger pointing signage for the tows

• The design work was carried out by Frame in Glasgow

Donald Morris of Comunn na Gàidhlig said, "We are happy to work with all signs companies and through the Ski Centres Project we established a productive working relationship with Signs Express (Falkirk). Ultimately they assisted us in our aim of normalising the Gaelic Language through using bilingual signs".
