New magic case study

Signs Express Bradford has helped Magic Carpet owner Mohammed Waseem with the launch of his new business venture Magic Furniture.

As well as providing the external illuminated fret cut sign and totem pole, Signs Express was also tasked with coming up with an effective wall covering for the new furniture store. The solution was to hang digitally printed art canvas drapes around the inside of the sales floor to help create the atmosphere and backdrop for the furniture displays. The 5 metre high and 1.5 metre wide art canvass drapes were hung in pairs to form 5m x 3m digital prints of furniture.

Signs Express owner Howard Baty commented on the project: “The concept to cover the walls with art canvass was the perfect test for our new JV33 large format digital printer. The effect is very impressive due to the sheer scale of the furniture prints. The method of fixing the drapes and keeping them tensioned was perhaps the biggest challenge. Our team eventually resolved the problem with an adjustable tensioning system. As with all projects the support of the client is vital, particularly when it is an experimental idea. The freedom and encouragement of ‘Was’ and his family played a major part in helping us achieve our goal. It’s also pleasing to hear that the store has had very strong sales since the launch.”
