In order to stand out to drivers on one of the UK’s busiest stretches of motorway, the M8, Central Car Auctions called on Signs Express (Glasgow) to provide their expert signage service commissioning a striking illuminated flex face light box fascia.
The catch phrase ‘Hammer Time’ shown on an illustration denoting the auctioneer’s hammer dominates the website of Central Car Auctions, a very successful car business operating in Glasgow. Buying and selling over 1,400 cars a week the prominent location of Central Car Auctions was an advertising opportunity not to be missed.
Signs Express (Glasgow) were contacted by Central Car Auctions and provided a proposal which not only secured planning permission but ensured minimal electrical consumption and minimum maintenance. Because the location of the sign is so exposed, the sign also had to deal with the extreme winds which can exceed 100mph.
Signs Express (Glasgow) Technical Sales Manager, Bryan Scott said, “We were delighted to assist on such a high profile project. Spanning over 7m in length, the flex face lightbox gives excellent visibility and branding to the site which can be seen across the M8. Plus we were able to offer additional advice and support to Central Car Auctions which means they have the promotional advertisement they were looking for but with significantly reduced ongoing costs by using eco-friendly LED technology which consumes 50% less energy than fluorescent lamps.”
