Craig Brown, Managing Director of Signs Express Ltd, has been appointed as President of the sign industry governing body the British Signs & Graphics Association (BSGA) for a second time. As the UK & Ireland’s largest sign company, Signs Express was first established in Norwich in 1989 and has since grown to over 75 centres across the UK & Ireland.
Craig was first elected to the position of President in 2007; which is held for a two year term and was recently appointed for a second term in April 2011 following the BSGA AGM at the Sign UK Exhibition. He takes over from Ian Drinkwater from Applelec Sign Components who will become Past President.
Each Signs Express centre is a member of the BSGA and the company is very keen to benefit from the advantages of membership as Craig explains, “I was delighted to be announced as President once again. It is important for the industry’s governing body to support its members with advice and guidance in order to raise standards across the industry as a whole and I along with the BSGA council and Director David Catanach will strive to do this over the next two years.”
“Developments within the sign industry are moving at a rapid pace and one of the most technical functions the BSGA are involved in is working with government bodies in order to disseminate guidelines for best practice in health and safety and legislative changes.”
“Over the coming years we will look to promote the benefits of membership to sign businesses across the Country as well as communicating the association to designers, architects and specifiers who will be able to benefit from associate membership.”
The British Signs & Graphics Association represents members ranging from small businesses to multi-million pound operations.
Craig has over 25 years experience in the sign industry and works and lives in Norwich with his wife and two children.
