Sign Express (Croydon) was recently approached by television personality David Lindo, the man behind The Urban Birder, a website encouraging people to get connected to the local nature on their doorsteps within cities and towns, to help promote his National Bird Election 2015 which is running alongside the general election.
The last vote for a National Bird in the UK took place in the 1960’s where the Robin flew to the lead and took the crown. This year there are 10 candidates flying in the final; the barn owl, blackbird, blue tit, hen harrier, kingfisher, mute swan, puffin, red kite, robin and the wren, all hoping to knock the robin of its perch and take to top of the poll.
David had a design created for his Rolls Royce Silver Shadow to create some impact and buzz around his 2015 National Bird Campaign and asked Signs Express (Croydon) if, with just three days to go, they could meet his deadline to print and apply the graphics.
Signs Express (Croydon) know that the early bird catches the worm and wasted no time cracking on with the project. Richard Worsley, Signs Express (Croydon) centre owner, commented: “David had a very good design provided by graphic designer Gary Woodward and his colleague Thomas Carty from Sense Advertising. It was clear to see what they wanted to achieve. Working to such a short timescale was a bit of a challenge, but fortunately we were able to complete the project on time and the car is now on the road, doing great work promoting the National Bird Vote 2015. We look forward to seeing which of the 10 final candidates wins the voters over.”
The finished result is very impactful and will certainly turn the heads of any one it passes by. David is thrilled with his new look Rolls, saying: “Signs Express (Croydon) managed the project without any ruffling of feathers and I am very grateful for their hard work and the finished result. I am keen to see how the vote goes.”
