A recession breakthrough with 24,000 new franchisee jobs!

Posted 08.04.2011

Exciting news is sweeping the nation.  RBS and Natwest have announced that they will be making £100 million of new loans available to the franchise sector!

With the gloomy recession and what seems like an endless amount of jobs being made redundant it has been a great relief to find that there are now a possible 300 new franchise opportunities available and a possible 24,000 jobs being created across the UK.  This is the kind of boost everyone has been waiting for.  Providing a new opportunity for people to take control of their future and work for themselves as well as creating new jobs.

According to a recent survey by Natwest, it shows that in the height of the economic downturn, the franchise industry’s turnover increased to £11.8 billion – with 94% of franchisors optimistic about the future proving why franchising has become so popular with Britain’s entrepreneurs.

Signs Express has been through more than 20 years of sustained growth, and has developed into the largest sign company in the UK and Ireland with more centres than any other business in the industry.

Signs Express has a new franchisee Darryl Lillie, who is the new owner of Signs Express Gloucester.  He saw the big potential the franchise had to offer and in January this year, bought the business from former owner Jon Hill who has now retired, after trading since 1993.

Commenting on purchasing the Signs Express Gloucester franchise, Darryl Lillie, says “After working for a large organisation I felt it was time to look at setting up a business of my own and after doing a lot of research, I immediately became very enthusiastic about the concept of the Signs Express franchise.  It has been great to buy a business which has been trading for the past 18 years very successfully, which is very reassuring when your starting out on your own business in the current recession.  I am very much looking forward to the future and seeing my business grow from strength to strength with the support of the Signs Express head office based in Norwich.”

Signs express is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of its customers.  Enjoying a national reputation for providing quality products and supreme customer service, Signs Express combines total coverage with local knowledge to offer its clients the most effective sign solutions.

Tony Marsh, Sales and Marketing Director of Signs Express says, “This is great news for people who are considering starting up a business on their own.  Owning a franchise has become increasingly popular especially in the current recession as you are operating within a proven business model.  It’s a great way to give people an opportunity to start up their own business and become their own boss but with all the benefits of an experienced brand and support team.  Our head office are always on hand to help with any questions as well as giving a fantastic training programme, our franchisees always feel they are part of one big family.  Having the support of an in-house marketing team is also very attractive to the new franchisees.”

From a simple individual sign to an entire sign system, Signs Express can match the requirements of any contract, large or small.  Each Signs Express branch is equipped with cutting-edge technology and staffed with highly skilled personnel, able to tackle the most demanding jobs effectively and efficiently.
