Signs Express (Slough) recently got the caffeine kick of its life whilst working with Windsor based design and product development agency, Designworks, on creating an oversized (to put it mildly!) coffee cup in the middle of Canary Wharf.
Commissioned by DeLonghi to promote its range of fine coffees and coffee making products, the giant cup stood 2.9m high by 2.6m wide and, once full of the 13,000 litres of coffee it was built to hold, will weigh an astonishing 12.8 tonnes. It is hoped that the enormous coffee cup will break the current Guinness Book of Record, set last year in Peurto Rico, of 12,847.69 litres of coffee to be held in a giant cup!
The Signs Express team (Slough) wrapped the cup, which was custom built by Designworks, to create the striking Delonghi branded result. It took a total of 504 hours to complete the job, with the graphics finally being applied by Signs Express (Slough) on Thursday 1st November, ready for the cup to be transported and in situ early Sunday morning. We bet the teams involved all needed a cup of coffee after all that hard work!
Richard Browne, owner of Signs Express, Slough, said “This was an exciting project to work on. The sheer size of the cup meant we knew it would create a lot of attention along with the fact it is such a creative idea. We were delighted to be approached by Designworks to wrap the cup in the graphics and are thrilled with the finished results – which at such a large finished size needed to be perfect.”
Signs Express (Slough) provides a wide range of signs and graphics including a variety of vehicle graphics such as; car wraps, van wrapping, reflective and conspicuity markings along with signs and graphics for interiors and exteriors, banners, exhibition displays and health & safety signs.
