Raising valuable funds for the the Vanessa Riddle Appeal, a team of drivers from South Ayrshire named the Taxi Renegades embarked on an epic adventure taking part in the 2012 Crumball Rally during May in an old black London taxi.
Signs Express Ayrshire were delighted to sponsor the team and provide a wide range of vehicle graphics to help promote their challenge and encourage donations.
The Crumball Rally Grand Prix saw the Taxi Renegades travel from South Ayrshire through France, Switzerland and Italy, culminating in Monte Carlo for the fantastic bi-annual Monaco historic GP on Sunday 13th May.
The Taxi Renegades set a challenge of raising £5252 for the Vanessa Riddle Appeal which is the chargable fee if the taxi meter was left running for the journey!
The Crumball Rally is open to any car and has two classifications: banger, where the car should cost no more than £200 and ragtops, which are two seater convertables of any age. The Taxi Renegades chose an old black London taxi for the rally, taking part in the 'banger' category.
The Taxi Renegades challenge is just one of a raft of events organised to help raise funds for the Vanessa Riddle appeal. Suffering with Neuroblastoma, a very rare, aggressive and difficult to treat form of childhood cancer, Vanessa's family had an appeal target of £500,000 to send 11 year old Vanessa to America for life saving treatment following a relapse of her condition in December 2011. Response has been incredible with an amazing £685561.90 raised so far, exceeding the target and raising awareness of the condition and the charity The Neuroblastoma Alliance.
