The staff members from Signs Express headquarters in Norwich, hung up their office clothes and took to the waters of Salhouse Broad to participate in a local raft race set up to raise funds for the conservation of Salhouse Broad and local charity Nelson’s Journey. The event, which took place on Sunday 25 August, involved two teams from the franchise headquarters who competed head-to-head to take home the winning trophy.
The two teams comprised Craig Brown (managing director), Jon Bean, Gavin Bromley, Nick Tredwell, Paul Baldwin, Tracy Goddard and Victoria Cole, with both teams competing against each other in the first round.
Although neither Signs Express team won the main race, there was a clear winner between the two HQ teams – with Craig Brown, Nick Tredwell and Paul Baldwin bringing in a victory for “Team A”.
The total amount raised on the day came to £900, with half of the funds going to the Signs Express nominated charity of the year “Nelson’s Journey”.
Plans are already being formed for competing in the 2014 race, where the team members hope to be able to raise even more funds for worthy local causes.
