Signs Express (Warwick) has embraced the use of social media by taking part in Warwick’s first ‘tweet-up’ – a networking event for local businesses, organised through twitter.
The leading sign company was keen to support and promote the ‘tweet-up’, providing an eye-catching pvc banner which was installed at Lane’s bar and restaurant where the event was held.
Over 80 people from a variety of businesses in the area gathered together on 7th March for an evening of fun, networking and tweeting! The idea was first suggested by Underwood Wines and Lane’s bar & restaurant and received such support that more events are already planned for the future.
Commenting centre owner Andy Slater said, “We are always keen to embrace new technology and started using twitter 6 months ago as a way of promoting our business and developing relationships with like minded business people in the local area. We soon discovered there were lots of small and medium sized businesses in Warwick using twitter and it is a great way to keep in touch.
The tweet-up was a fantastic idea and brought together social media with traditional networking as well as being a lot of fun. It is important for local businesses to work together as much as possible and I think this event is a great way to explore the talent in the area. We were happy to assist with promotion of the event and provided a full colour digitally printed banner for the official gathering.”
