Part of the UK and Ireland’s largest sign company, Signs Express (Derry), was delighted this week after receiving national recognition in the Sign Excellence Awards at this year’s Signs Express Convention.
Richard McGonigle owner of Signs Express (Derry) was named a finalist in the Best Vehicle Graphics category for their application of a full wrap on Derry City Councils’ new community bus. Working with a local design agency, Richard and his team applied an eye-catching full colour vehicle wrap, incorporating clever use of window vinyl into the final design. The new, modified bus is used to hold information sessions around the city, aimed at getting people back into employment. Derry City Council were delighted with the results and reported they feel the message they were hoping to convey has been captured completely.
The prestigious awards ceremony is a part of the Signs Express bi-annual convention, which this year marked the 20th anniversary for the group. Held in Norwich, England, the convention weekend consists of seminars and a supplier’s forum, giving the franchisees from Ireland and the UK a perfect opportunity to catch up with key suppliers, learn about new business initiatives and to have a first look at new products to hit the market.
Judges of the Best Vehicle Graphics project award commented on how difficult their job was made by the extremely high standard of entries this year. Richard and his team created a fantastic looking public vehicle which is sure to turn heads across the city.
