You can't miss the stunning new window installations and signs completed by SX Belfast for Southern Regional College's Newry Campus in their state-of-the-art student 'Hub' facility.

Southern Regional College is the largest Further and Higher Education College outside of Belfast in Northern Ireland with a total of six campuses across the counties of Armagh and Down. The Hub, built at the Newry Campus, is designed to be a dedicated environment where young people can develop their business ideas and showcase their creativity and enterprise. The space was designed by HLM Architects and created to be break from the traditional classroom setting to one that reflects the digital age of communication and collaboration with technology – enhancing the learning experience. To achieve this effect, Signs Express (Belfast) used revolutionary 3M Optically Clear Window Film, which is a perfectly transparent cast PVC printing film, onto which any design can be reproduced using digital printing. Previously, printed elements had to be cut out of the film, but this new product has been designed so that the unprinted areas allow a perfectly clear view through the glass. Utilising such films in combination with silver etched effect window graphics, Signs Express (Belfast) has made a striking feature of the glass areas, which is in keeping with the rest of The Hub's modern design. The most difficult part of this job was the fitting of the materials, but luckily for Belfast, the centre's highly experienced team have completed many such installations and have honed their skills to become experts in the field of applying such window films. In addition to these spectacular window graphics, Signs Express (Belfast) also furnished the College with a Perspex ceiling feature that is applied with colour coded graphics and a feature wall with 20mm Foamex lettering, including the Hub logo which was wet coated. Signs Express (Belfast) centre has recently invested in new technology in May 2015. The latest addition to the centre's equipment has been a new CNC router that works on laser technology and offers a cost effective solution, as well as unrivalled accuracy and speed. The centre also used Pantone matched printed vinyl for an exact colour match between the various elements of the job. Cathy Johnston, Centre Manager of Signs Express (Belfast) was very pleased with the end result of the team's hard work. 'We are ecstatic with the outcome of this project. The feedback we have had has been brilliant. We have done several projects for different clients installing optically clear window graphics and have become experts in this field. Indeed, I believe that we are one of only a few sign companies in the region that have the necessary skills and expertise to complete such work.'
