Yorkshire's favourite news presenter, Harry Gration MBE has had a bus named in his honour to mark his retirement from BBC Look North after 38 years of service and Signs Express (York) were thrilled to be involved with the tribute.
On his final day of broadcasting, Harry was presented with a bus which had been named in his honour. Harry has been the voice of The Harrogate Bus Company's number 36 service announcing bus stops and customer information on the service. The bus arrived in Leeds amid secrecy to meet Harry following his final broadcast and Signs Express (York) had had the privilege of applying the new graphics which proudly adorn the bus. 'When we were asked by Transdev to work on this project we were thrilled,' said Ian Dawson, Managing Director of Signs Express (York). 'We have all watched Harry on BBC Look North over the years and his familiar and relaxed broadcasting has been a pleasure to watch' he continued. Signs Express (York) supplied and installed the graphics in secrecy ahead of the bus being presented to Harry. Signs Express (York) have worked with the bus company, Transdev, for a number of years supplying and installing graphics to their fleet which operate across York and Yorkshire. 'It was great to see that Harry was obviously thrilled with the honour and we look forward to working with Transdev in the future' said Ian. 'Earlier in the year we worked on some graphics with them to honour the NHS and key workers during the pandemic, it is always fantastic to see new and innovative ways in which signage & graphics portray messages of thanks and gratitude and we love working on new and innovative projects.' Signs Express (York) provide a full design, manufacture & installation service for a wide range of vehicle & livery graphics including vinyl wrapping.
