Signs Express Warrington was announced as a finalist in the Best Individual Sign and the Best Sign Project categories at the Signs Express Awards Ceremony held at the Nottingham Belfry hotel on Friday 28th November. In a change to the usual process, the awards were voted for by the franchisees themselves rather than a panel of external judges, making this a true reflection of the sign maker's talent.
This year, Signs Express was celebrating their 25th year and so the convention was as much a celebration as a conference. Welcoming franchisees from their 70 centres across the UK and Ireland, the convention was a huge success, celebrating past achievements and looking towards the future. Signs Express Warrington were up against strong competition for their finalist places with this year's Sign Awards receiving one of the highest amounts of entries in the event's history. The blind vote for the sign awards took place at lunchtime on the day of the convention with the entries lining one of the walls at the conference. To win their finalist accolade in the Best Individual Sign category, Signs Express Warrington entered their striking boardroom sign created for RR Donnelley. The Warrington team were asked to come up with a boardroom wall display with a difference; the result as you can see not only met but exceeded the brief, leading the team to their award. Competition was also extremely tough in the Best Sign Project category but again Signs Express Warrington was victorious with their entry for the rebranding of Birchwood Shopping Centre. Surveyed, designed, fabricated and installed in three weeks, the rebrand included seven internally LED illuminated monolith signs with push-thru acrylic detail with one monolith measuring a whopping 7m tall x 1.5m wide! Also provided were internal branding, double sided banners and panel & posts parking entrance signage. It no wonder with the level of work and skill involved that the Warrington team took their second accolade of the night. Signs Express managing director Craig Brown commented: 'Signs Express Warrington has produced some fantastic work over the last year and I'm pleased to see that this has been recognised in the blind vote by the other franchisees, congratulations to all the team!' Alvin and David Morris opened the Warrington Signs Express centre in March 1995 and are now firmly established as one of the major signs companies in the area. The highly skilled team are on hand to offer advice and excellent service on a full range of signs and graphics.
