Declaring WARS on Animal Cruelty

To show their support to WARS, Signs Express Worcester donated a sign to help raise public awareness of the charity. The shelter receives no government funding and relies solely on volunteers and public donations. The staff and volunteers dedicate their time helping ease the distress of animals, who through no fault of their own, are either abandoned, unwanted or mistreated and abused. Unfortunately the task of running and maintaining the shelter is both enormous and expensive. To ensure the welfare of the animals in their care a team of essential paid and experienced staff work alongside a band of invaluable volunteers who help exercise, socialise and provide support and love, making sure the animals needs are met on a daily basis. Phil Shellam (Owner of Signs Express Worcester) commented: 'It always saddens me to see the amount of neglected and mistreated animals that WARS has in their care at any one time, and what is shocking is that the number never improves. You'd like to hope that in this day and age, and through educating people how to respect and look after our furry friends, that animal neglect was on the decrease. Shelters like WARS do amazing work to make sure these animals are given the best chance of finding love and a forever home. It was our absolute pleasure to be able to help them, if only in a small way.'
