The Cardiff Devils ice hockey season is underway and their proud sponsors Signs Express (Cardiff) are lined up right beside the Welsh Capital's Elite Ice Hockey League Club. The Devils have already seen the Belfast Giants into Cardiff Bay early in the EIHL season, who are also sponsored by Signs Express via the company's Belfast branch.
The Cardiff Devils were formed in autumn 1986, shortly after the Wales National Ice Rink was built. The team began as a partnership between the rink owners, Sports Nationwide, and Canadian ice hockey player John Lawless. The team were named the 'Devils' in recognition of the Welsh national colours and the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League in North America who also wore red, white and green. Today the team are led by former Cardiff Devil and now Managing Director Brent Pope, they are coached by Gerad Adams and bench coach Neil Francis. On the eve of a new permanent home in Cardiff Bay's International Sports Village the Devils are a formidable force in the UK's top flight of ice hockey, the Elite Ice Hockey League. Signs Express (Cardiff) has provided perimeter boards, promotional and display products and hospitality suite branding alongside 3M vehicle wrap graphics for the strong Devils brand. The graphics are great for promotion and help to encourage and promote visitor attendance whilst the Devils players roll around the city in their mobile Club advertisement. The sign makers have a dedicated vehicle bay for these installations and take great pride in the high quality finish they provide to their customers. Grant Zehetmayr from Signs Express (Cardiff) has commented: 'We are proud sponsors of the Cardiff Devils and very much enjoy our involvement with this exciting sport. We have high hopes for a great season ahead and a promising future for the organisation!' Signs Express (Cardiff) offer a wide range of services which include vehicle graphics, internal and external signage, and have a wide portfolio of completed work in and around the city. The branch were finalists for the Special Achievement Award at the Sign Excellence Awards in 2011.
