Wrapping for awareness

The Hull sign makers fully designed and completely wrapped the fire engine to turn it blue, with the striking livery supporting Prostate Cancer UK's Men United campaign. Parked in Hull city centre's Queen Victoria Square, the eye catching truck caught the attention of many passers-by, encouraging men to get checked out for the disease. Daryl Oprey, Director of Operations commented: 'We are all about looking after our communities and looking after the most vulnerable so this initiative to raise awareness of prostate cancer among our staff and the wider community is the perfect fit. The engine is really eye-catching and we hope it will encourage men to have a conversation with their GP.' The fully operational fire engine and will still attend fires and emergencies, but it will also be used to cover events to raise awareness. Seeing the vehicle driving around the local area is sure to turn heads! In 2011, Prostate cancer was the most common cancer in men in the UK, accounting for 25% of all new cases of cancer in males. This statistic alone goes to show how important it is to raise awareness and for men to make sure they are checked out and know the symptoms.
