Great Yarmouth College
Signs Express (Gt Yarmouth) was contacted by Gt Yarmouth College to help give a fresh new look to their main entrance. Signs Express was asked to turn an architect's drawing of the new reception entrance into reality. The entire entrance area of the building was to become a giant sign. Robin Day, in charge of the college's Estates and Facilities, was asked to instruct his building contractors to build the basic shape of the design using wood and to leave the rest to the Signs Express team. They then took exact measurements of the structure and commenced cladding the wood with aluminium composite sheets faced with vinyl of the required colours. When the cladding was complete, the college logo - aluminium composite shapes and text faced with lime and blue vinyl - and the word reception - 10mm thick black acrylic letters - were mounted on stand-off locators.
