Sign trays are a cost-effective way to make clear exterior signs. They can be finished in different ways, from vinyl graphics applied to the tray through to flat-cut or built-up letters fixed on top. This makes them suitable for many businesses.
They are usually made from aluminium, aluminium composite (ACM) or stainless steel. Aluminium is strong and weather resistant, ACM is lightweight and durable, and stainless steel gives a more premium look. Trays can also be powder-coated to match almost any brand colour.

Adare SEC Rebrand

Adare SEC, a provider of customer communication solutions for industries including banking, insurance and the public sector, required a multi-site rebrand across several UK locations. Signs Express Birmingham SW managed the full process, including surveys, RAMS, in-house manufacturing and installation. The project involved producing a range of signage such as flex face skins and frames, totem trays, flat panels, fence-mounted panels and replacement graphics, all designed to align with Adare’s branding. Existing panels, posts and frames were repurposed where possible to reduce cost and waste.

EVS Strengthens Site Identity
The Challenge:
As part of its expansion into two new sites in Grimsby and Sandtoft, European Vehicle Sales (EVS) wanted modern, consistent branding that would strengthen visibility and create a polished look. A tight five-week deadline and complex installation conditions at Sandtoft added extra challenges.
Our Solution:
Signs Express Grimsby proposed two signage options: refurbishing existing lightboxes with new aluminium trays or installing a modern Flex Face LED system. EVS chose the Flex Face option for its bold illuminated effect. We also produced two custom double-sided flags—one with the EVS logo and one Union Jack—for added impact.
