Signs Express (Aberdeen) has completed a wall mural for the new HMP & YOI Grampian on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council and the Scottish Prison Service.
The prison were looking to create a welcoming atmosphere in their family visitor centre and so approached the Aberdeen sign makers to produce a 25000x2800mm mural featuring scenes from across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to brighten up the walls. The new prison will hold around 500 prisoners including men, women and young people. The HMP and Young Offenders Institute, HMP Grampian, is on the site of the former Peterhead prison and will be overseen by governor Jim Farish. Wall murals and canvases are becoming increasingly popular in facilities such as prisons, creating an airy and calming environment for prisoners and visitors alike. Signs Express (Aberdeen) who have recently received a Royal Warrant of Appointment, have been providing comprehensive signs and graphics solutions to Aberdeen and the surrounding areas since October 1996.
