Royal Gunpowder Mills Secret Island
The team at Royal Gunpowder Mills in Waltham Abbey wanted to make their main entrance more welcoming and easier for visitors to find. It’s a site full of history, but the front of the building didn’t show that off. They also needed better signage for quieter days when the ticket cabin wasn’t manned.
Flamingo Marketing, who manage the attraction’s branding, asked us to help bring their new designs to life. We’ve worked with them before, so they knew we could handle the print and install quickly and carefully.

What We Did
After looking at the entrance layout, we suggested using the curved high windows above the doors for a large graphic display. It was the ideal spot — visible from a distance and easy to update later if needed.
We printed matt-laminated vinyl graphics and wrapped them to the outside of the glass. The colours matched the new branding perfectly and now give visitors a bright welcome when they arrive.
For the ticket cabin, we created something a bit different. The team wanted a way to guide visitors when staff weren’t around, so we designed custom printed roller blinds. When pulled down, they display clear directions and contact info, pointing people to the main entrance.
The Result
The changes have made a big difference. The entrance now stands out, and the blinds make it easier for visitors to find their way around even when the cabin’s closed. It’s a small job in size, but it’s added real polish and practicality to the visitor experience.
