GREEN ESTATE CHOOSES SIGNS EXPRESS SHEFFIELD TO REJUVENATE INTERIOR SPACES
This was one of those projects that felt right from the start. We worked with The Green Estate in Sheffield to help them refresh their reception area — they wanted something that would catch the eye but also fit their eco-friendly values.

Client needs
The brief was simple enough: make it look great but keep it sustainable. No waste, no unnecessary materials, just something clean, natural and welcoming.
So, we kept things honest. We used printed wall boards made from recyclable materials and added some wooden shelving that tied in nicely with the look they were going for. Everything, from the panels to the fixings, could be reused or recycled later on. It’s always good when you can create something that looks great and does good at the same time.
About The Green Estate
If you’ve not come across them before, The Green Estate is one of those organisations that quietly does a huge amount of good. They’re all about improving local spaces and getting people involved with the environment around them.
They run a community farm where kids and adults can learn more about where food comes from, and they’ve got this brilliant Manor Makers project — older craftsmen teaching younger locals woodworking and other skills. It’s a proper community effort that brings generations together.
They’ve also helped turn neglected bits of land into places where people actually want to spend time. Parks, gardens, shared spaces — all looked after with care. Their whole approach is about improving wellbeing and helping people feel proud of where they live.
A collaborative approach
From the first visit, it was clear that their new reception needed to feel like them. No over-design, no corporate gloss. It just had to be honest, functional and natural — a space that tells their story the moment you walk in.
We sat down with their team, shared a few sketches and material samples, and once they saw the recycled board finish alongside the warm wood shelving, everyone knew that was the right direction.
Installation was straightforward. We worked carefully to make sure everything lined up and sat flush against the existing walls. It’s a clean finish, but still has a bit of character to it — which suits the space perfectly.
The End Result
When it was all done, it just worked. The room feels brighter, more open, and genuinely welcoming. The new signage gives the space a modern touch, but it doesn’t take away from what’s important — the message behind The Green Estate itself.
You can tell the difference when you walk in. Visitors notice it too — the colours, the warmth of the wood, the message behind it all. It’s a small project in size, but it carries a lot of meaning.
