Signs Express (Glasgow) has invested heavily in new equipment with the purchase of a new HP Latex 360 printer.
This is the latest arrival for the experienced sign makers, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. Their purpose-built production centre has its own design studio, router and other cutting equipment, a large vehicle bay and now two wide-format printers. This latest machine, supplied by CWE Solutions, offers numerous advantages to the team's operation; namely the fact that this 64 inch printer is the fastest in the 300 series and is also highly robust, reliable and versatile. It also offers unique features such as double-sided printing, on-board automatic ICC profiling (colour management software) with the ability to synchronise colour consistency between printers for fleet management and printing on textiles or other porous substrates. Additionally, the HP Latex 360 can be used for a variety of indoor and outdoor applications with all of the environmental and operational benefits that accompany the use of water-based inks. The printer, which was installed last week, will enable Production Manager Robert and Designer Aidan, to meet the needs of any client that comes through the doors at Signs Express (Glasgow). Owner, Graham, expressed his enthusiasm about the new technology by stating that, 'We can respond more quickly to customer requests and increase workflow with 2 printers in situ. The latex printer has the added benefit of requiring no outgassing, so the vinyl can be used immediately after printing, unlike solvent machines.' Signs Express (Glasgow) provides a comprehensive range of signs, graphics and services to areas in and around Glasgow, such as East Kilbride, Motherwell, Paisley, Clydebank and Dumbarton. It operates from an extensive production centre that was established in May 1995. The addition of the new printer to this custom-built unit will make the Glasgow centre the first in the nationwide network with the third generation Latex printer installed – Glasgow is setting the trend that other Signs Express centres are soon to follow.
