In a change to the usual voting process, the awards were voted for by the franchisees for the first time ever, making this a true reflection of the centre's talent. Welcoming franchisees from their 70 centres across the UK and Ireland, the convention was a huge success, celebrating past achievements and looking towards the future, a notion supported by their futuristic space themed evening event. The blind vote for the sign awards took place at lunchtime on the day of the convention with the entries displayed on boards lining one of the walls at the conference. The Best Sign Project category received a large amount of high quality entries and so this became a much sought after award! Signs Express (Norwich) entered their project for Notre Dame High School. The team were asked to provide site signage for Notre Dame High School and with a brief to consider the surroundings (some buildings are listed) but equally provide signage that had a modern look and feel, conveying the brand effectively. Signs Express (Norwich) suggested a combination of materials and techniques resulting in the end signage fitting all the criteria and more. Stainless Steel, self-adhesive vinyl, metal fabrication and painting were all used on the signage culminating in very clean, modern and fitting signage for the school. Signs Express managing director Craig Brown commented: 'Signs Express (Norwich) have done a fantastic job which really fits the brief they were given and looks fantastic within the school grounds. Congratulations to them on their well-deserved finalist place.'
