Text Santa was a charity initiative established by ITV in 2011 to encourage people nationwide to donate money to one of the six nominated charities working across the country. It couldn't be simpler to donate to the cause – as the name suggests, you literally send a text saying 'SANTA' to 70070 and you will automatically donate £5 – 100% of which goes towards the Text Santa charities. (You can also donate by logging on to www.textsanta.co.uk and following the instructions or popping into any Santander branch with cash donations or a cheque). Signs Express (Norwich) has been involved in the production of over 100 self-adhesive 'Rudy' graphics to help promote the campaign across the U.K. Rudy is the cute reindeer mascot who you may have seen dotted around various places – including on your T.V. He's a cheeky little reindeer with lots of character and is hard to miss with his bright colours and stylised form. Signs Express (Norwich) was faced with the challenge of coming up with a contour-cut graphic of Rudy which could be easily stuck to various surfaces and yet also removed leaving no glue residue. Paul Baldwin, Signs Express (Norwich) centre manager, commented: 'I had just the product for the job after hearing what the requirements for Rudy were. I printed a sample for ITV to prove how simple the material was to use and how effective it is at being removed and re-positioned multiple times. They were blown away with the results, both the way the final graphic looked and also the durability and usability of the product, so much so they placed an extra order which needed to be produced and dispatched the same day to ensure deadlines were met. Rudy can be re-positioned many times without losing his stick or damaging walls or windows. We're delighted to get involved in the Text Santa campaign and produce this fun wall graphic, which ultimately will also help raise awareness for such worthy causes.' Signs Express completed work with ITV earlier in the year during their re-brand when many of its centres across the U.K. were responsible for replacing the graphics on their satellite vehicles. The involvement which Signs Express (Norwich) has had with ITV's Corporate Responsibility team to help promote the Text Santa campaign has been a direct result of the quality of service which Signs Express provided during the ITV re-brand. Signs Express (Norwich) worked exceptionally hard to make sure this project was finished on time, with only three days to source the correct material, complete product testing and turn the job around, but Paul continued to explain to us how him and his team love a challenge: 'Our HP Latex Printer was working constantly producing high quality print with consistent results to make sure 'Rudy' looked his best when he reached his varying destinations across the U.K., including the Channel Islands! It's really got us all in to the spirit of Christmas and we at both the production centre and the staff at head office, are all looking forward to taking part in the Text Santa 'Hattitude' day on December 20th, we hope to see lots of people joining in and sport ridiculous headwear throughout the day!'
