When Fairway Engineering set up their new purpose-built industrial facility, they needed signage that would match the professionalism and precision of their own work. They came to Signs Express Bristol with a clear brief: create high-quality, high-impact built-up lettering for the exterior of their new site — and help them navigate everything that comes with signage on a new build.
Why They Chose Us & The Project Scope
After speaking with several signage providers, Fairway Engineering decided to work with our Bristol team based on a combination of quality, experience and cost. They needed a supplier who could deliver a top-tier finish, manage the practical and technical side of the project, and work closely with both their team and the site developers — and we were proud to take it on.
The brief was to produce and install powder-coated aluminium built-up lettering, with stand-off locators, positioned more than 8 metres above ground level on the building’s front elevation.
Because the signage was being planned at the same time as the building design, we were brought in early to make sure the two worked together. That meant:
-
Supplying technical specs for the signage so the client’s architects could integrate it into their drawings
-
Providing planning documentation to support signage approvals
-
Liaising with the site landlord to supply all required Risk Assessments, Method Statements and insurance details
-
Creating detailed visuals and proofs so everyone — from the builder to the boardroom — knew exactly what was going where
We also worked with the building’s cladding profile, ensuring the signage sat correctly within the structure and matched the planned finish.

Installation: A Challenge Worth Taking On & The Outcome
The sign was installed in late November — and true to form for the season, the weather didn’t make it easy. With wind and rain on the cards and the sign being fitted at height, our team had to work carefully and efficiently to get the job done safely without compromising on quality.
Despite the conditions, the sign went up on time and looked exactly as intended.
This was a great example of a signage project that needed more than just design and installation — it required project management, planning support, and the ability to work in step with architects, landlords and site teams.
Fairway Engineering now has a professional, well-built sign that reflects their brand and sets the tone for their new site.

Client Feedback
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“From the initial point of contact, the overall professionalism of both Ben and the company was obvious — turning some very basic and seemingly demanding ideas into a series of suggestions, designs and solutions. Now that the installation is complete and we’re finally in the building, the signage looks fantastic. Clearly we chose the right team and would heartily recommend Signs Express to anyone looking for any signage solution. It’s been a pleasure to work with you and your team.”
