Working from Aylwyn's original design, that cleverly combined many of the amazing buildings, features, organisations and companies that make Exeter such a special place to live and work, Signs Express have created a 3.5m wide x 5.5m high full-colour mural for their roller-shutter door. The installation showcases our commitment to the highest levels of visual creativity with the latest techniques and materials. Nick Baxter-Sibley, Managing Director of Signs Express (Exeter), commented: 'We have worked with Aylwn on many projects over the years, and I'd recently purchased a copy of his 'Exeter' print not knowing he was the artist. Fortunately, I came to realise it was his design at a time when we were looking for something different that would make an 'eye catching' statement on the outside of our building. The Exeter image seemed the perfect solution and Aylwyn was more than delighted when asked if we could use it! For us, as well as celebrating all that is great about Exeter, the design includes at least 26 organisations, institutions and businesses in Exeter with whom we deal. These include the Met Office, Devon & Cornwall Constabulary, Exeter College, Exeter University and Princesshay Shopping Centre' The newly installed graphic has already attracted a lot of comment from customers and visitors and looks to become a bit of a local attraction on Matford Business Park.
