Since its conception in the 19th century, braille has transformed the lives of millions of people across the world, giving them the opportunity and confidence to understand their language and navigate the world.
Braille is a tactile reading and writing system which represents text and is made up of raised dots to replicate numbers, letters, symbols and common words.

National Braille Week, organised by the Royal Blind Charity and running from 7th – 13th October to coincide with World Sight Day, is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of braille and other alternative reading formats which open up the written world to those with vision impairments.

Signs Express understands the importance of providing equal opportunities and intellectual freedom which is why many of our centres are equipped with braille and tactile sign making technologies. From wayfinding and door signs to health & safety signage, we can help you ensure your signage is accessible to everyone.
