In the fast lane with the RAC
When Fourth Avenue Autos, an RAC approved garage in Radstock near Bath, needed an update to the latest RAC-branded signage, they asked Signs Express (Bath) to handle it. The brief was to refresh their branding on site so that, from the moment customers arrived, everything clearly reflected the RAC standards they work to.

Project overview
As part of the Signs Express national RAC account, our Bath centre looks after RAC signage across the Bath, Chippenham and Calne areas. That means we’re familiar with the RAC brand guidelines, specifications and colour standards, so we can move quickly from enquiry to installation without lots of back and forth.
For Fourth Avenue Autos, we supplied and installed a mix of internal and external RAC approved signage, including:
- A black RAC welcome mat sign with a printed logo on a non-slip backing, so it’s practical as well as on-brand.
- A large vertical external sign with a gloss laminated print to the face, giving a clean, durable finish that holds up well to the weather.
- An acrylic internal panel with reverse-printed graphics and polished edges, creating a smart, professional look at eye level inside the reception area.
Attention to detail
One of the small but important touches on this job was colour accuracy. The RAC’s mandarin orange, black and white palette is well known, so everything needed to line up perfectly.
Our in-house sign maker spent extra time colour matching the screw snap caps on the vertical sign to the RAC colours. It’s a subtle detail, but it means the fixings don’t distract from the branding and the whole sign reads as one clean, finished piece.
Result
The finished signs give Fourth Avenue Autos a consistent RAC presence inside and out, reinforcing customer confidence from the moment they arrive on site. The combination of floor graphics, external signage and internal acrylic panels creates a joined-up look that supports the RAC-approved status of the garage.
