OUR WORK
Richard Parks' successful 737 Challenge
When adventurer Richard Parks launched his incredible 737 Challenge, climbing the seven highest summits on each continent and reaching all three poles in just seven months, the team at Signs Express (Cardiff) were thrilled to get involved.
To help raise awareness and funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care, we were asked to wrap a brand-new Audi A1 that would tour the UK as part of the campaign and later be given away in a charity prize draw.

The brief
The brief called for something bold and inspiring, something that would stand out on the road while reflecting the strength and endurance behind the 737 Challenge. Working with local design agency limegreentangerine, we translated their concept into a full vehicle wrap.
The design combined black-and-white expedition photography, rough texturing, and striking typography – a look that captured the grit and determination of Richard’s mission.
Materials and technologies used
To achieve the best possible finish, we used 3M’s Controltac Graphic Film IJ380, an ultra-conformable vinyl ideal for complex curves and recesses. The graphics were digitally printed in-house and protected with a clear laminate to maintain colour and durability.
As a 3M Approved Vehicle Wrapping Centre, our Cardiff team handled the entire process in our climate-controlled livery bay – the perfect environment for precision work. Every contour of the A1 was wrapped seamlessly, protecting the original paintwork while creating a stunning visual impact.
The Challenge
The finished Audi A1 made its first appearance at the Dragons vs. Blues rugby match in Cardiff, where it turned plenty of heads and helped boost awareness of the 737 Challenge.
Richard Parks went on to make history on 12 July 2011, becoming the first person ever to climb all seven summits and stand on all three poles (North, South, and Everest) within a single calendar year – completing the feat in just 6 months, 11 days, 7 hours, and 53 minutes. His goal: to raise £1 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Result
The finished Audi A1 is more than just a promotional vehicle – it’s a moving tribute to human endurance and community support. The wrap not only raised awareness for a world-first expedition but also helped generate vital funds for charity.
