Ordering a sign can be a tricky business. With so many variables that affect the quotation process, here is some advice from us on how to not only speed up the process, but also make it as pain free as possible so you end up with the right solution for your needs and budget.
1. What do you want your sign to do? Are you looking for a sign to generate business, show people where and who you are or help protect them? Think about how long you want the sign to be in place and how much you want to spend. 2. New or replacement? If you’re looking to replace an existing sign or graphic, we’ll need to know this so we can allocate resources for removal. New signage, depending on what it is, may need some additional fabrication or supporting structures to ensure it’s safe and secure, which will need to be included in the quote. We may also want to undertake a site survey. 3. What type of sign do you want? Materials, prices, installation requirements and schedules change greatly depending on whether you need an exterior sign, interior sign, wallpaper, vehicle graphics, banners, stickers etc. To put aside the right resources and create an accurate quotation, every sign maker needs to know what you want. Take a look on Google or our website and find photographs which show similar signage solutions to what you are looking for and this will help refine your bespoke requirement. We can offer a very wide range of products, so don't be afraid to ask, even if you are not sure it is immediately available! 4. Budget?
How much you want to spend will indicate the materials and solutions that fit your price range. If you can stipulate a budget, drawing up a quote can be worked around you! 5. Do you have examples or artwork? Most Signs Express centres can offer to assist you with a design, so if you do not have your own artwork, providing an idea of brand guidelines and your logo or examples of other work that you like can help reduce amendment time and give you the best value for money. 6. Do you need installation services? Installation can be a tricky business, especially with large or elevated projects, so factoring in whether you need an installation team means that this can be included in the initial quote and not a scary additional cost later in the process. 7. What is your schedule? When you need completion, will affect the times that materials are ordered and work flow is begun. If you’re having a rebrand for example and want everything completed all on the same day we will need to prepare all resources in advance. 8. Making an enquiry
As well as the above, photos can also be a great way to illustrate your locations and the surrounding area. If you have any additional documents then attach them to your initial enquiry as the more information you can provide, the better! These are some of the key questions every sign maker will want to know before they prepare you a quote. Remember, signs can last for years and so it’s important to choose the right supplier. We’re on hand to help our customers every step of the way which is why 95% would happily recommend us* (*survey of 1000 people).
