When local company Boreas acquired a new office as part of their expansion plans, they saw more than just space - they saw an opportunity. With a modern, architecturally distinctive building now theirs, they wanted signage that didn’t just fit in; it had to stand out.
Their goal? To stamp their brand identity across the site in a way that felt bold, confident and unmistakably “Boreas”.

Starting with the Vision
The building offered unique natural sightlines and strong design features. Our client wanted signage that would utilise these strengths, turning architectural features into visual assets. They’d been inspired by some of the existing signs on-site, originally supplied by Signs Express to the previous occupant. There was something in the style and positioning that felt right. Our challenge was to take what worked, update it, and make it their own.
Understanding the Space
This wasn’t just a signage job - it was a brand transformation. The building’s sharp angles and modern finish required careful thought. Each element had to complement, not compete. Every sign needed a purpose.
Working closely with Boreas, we explored the space inside and out. Together, we walked the site, reviewed viewpoints, and planned signage that would flow naturally, from the front gate to the back office.
Bespoke Signage Solutions
Signs Express Grimsby provided a full signage package, covering everything from initial concepts to final installation. Here’s what we delivered:
Main High-Level Signage - Built-up 3D logo and lettering, internally illuminated for impact day and night.
Totem-Style Ground Sign - A low-level, stencil-cut illuminated totem, positioned to make the most of natural entry points.
Internal Office & Window Graphics - Full-colour self-adhesive graphics, including room names, door signage and window branding.
How We Worked
We supplied detailed artwork layouts and visuals for Boreas to review and amend. Every sign was signed off on before manufacturing began. We believe in partnership, and this project was the perfect example of client collaboration done well.
The signage was fabricated using 3D built-up CNC methods, combining aluminium composite sign trays and LED illumination. Internally, full-colour graphics added clarity and cohesion across the workspaces.
Overcoming the Challenge
One of the biggest challenges was blending Boreas’ bold brand colours into such a sleek, contemporary building. We approached the project with our usual consultative mindset, working closely with the client to strike the right balance between visibility and subtlety. The goal wasn’t just to display their brand - it was to integrate it.
