The Brief
St Andrews Hospice recently opened a brand-new superstore in Grimsby, Lincolnshire and needed eye-catching retail shopfront signage to attract attention from passing traffic. As a busy location with high visibility potential, the hospice wanted signage that would clearly communicate the brand and make the store easy to spot from the road.
As a charity, it was also important that the signage solution was cost-effective, without compromising on quality or appearance.

Project Overview
Signs Express Grimsby has an established relationship with St Andrews Hospice, having previously delivered signage for multiple retail stores across Lincolnshire. With a strong understanding of the charity’s branding and existing store signage, the team was able to ensure the new Grimsby superstore matched the look and feel of other St Andrews locations.
The aim was to transform the large fascia areas on the building using bold, high-impact signage that reflected the hospice’s well-known branding and created a professional retail presence.
Solutions Provided
To maximise impact while keeping costs under control, Signs Express Grimsby supplied and installed CNC router-cut letters and logos to create a large, striking shopfront display.
This approach provided a strong visual finish, ideal for a high street retail environment, and delivered a premium look without the higher costs associated with more complex illuminated signage. The signage was completed with full colour printed graphics, ensuring the final result matched St. Andrew's Hospice branding accurately and consistently.
Challenges & Highlights
Working with a charity always requires careful consideration of budgets. The key challenge was delivering signage that looked bold, professional, and long-lasting, while still providing a solution that was realistic and affordable.
By using CNC cut signage combined with printed graphics, Signs Express were able to deliver a high-quality shopfront finish that met both branding expectations and budget requirements.
A major highlight was seeing the signage installed and the full shopfront brought to life. The completed fascia signage gives the new superstore a strong presence and helps the store stand out clearly, making it instantly recognisable to customers.
The finished result supports St Andrews Hospice by helping increase visibility and encouraging footfall to the new retail location.
