What the Club Needed
With brand-new practice facilities in place, Caistor Cricket Club was looking to finish the project with a professional touch. They needed high-quality visual elements that would not only look smart but also honour the individuals and organisations who made the upgrade possible. It was important to communicate key usage rules clearly while creating a welcoming, well-branded environment for players and visitors.
Need that finishing touch? We’re here to help.
Project Overview
The club’s new nets were the result of a successful community crowdfunding campaign, powered by the enthusiasm of local supporters and businesses. As one of the contributors, Signs Express Grimsby didn’t just offer financial support; we also provided and installed the club’s new branded signage. This included sponsor logos, dedication names, and clear Health & Safety instructions and rules to guide players and visitors.
Our Approach
To ensure the signage matched the quality and function of the new facility, we supplied:
- Bespoke aluminium composite signage - chosen for its durability and clean finish
- Custom-fitting brackets - designed to suit the steel pole structure of the nets
- Sponsor and dedication boards - giving generous supporters the exposure they deserved
- Health & Safety signage - to help players use the space responsibly and confidently
Every sign was styled in the club’s colours and designed to look right at home within the space. They were more than just informative; they added personality and pride to the new facility.
Materials and Technologies Used
We used aluminium composite panels for their proven strength and weather resistance, ideal for outdoor sports facilities. Each panel was printed and laminated for 5 - 7 years of durability, helping the signage stay sharp and clear through changing seasons. Sign rails and clips were customised for the site, ensuring a secure and tidy fit to the steel framework.

Project Considerations
While not the most technically complex job, this installation still required thoughtful planning. With the site being open access, it was essential that everything we installed could withstand the elements and potential tampering. At the same time, we needed to ensure the sponsor recognition boards were easy to read and well-positioned. Getting that balance between visibility and resilience was a key part of our approach.
Project Highlights
The real highlight here was the installation of the practice nets themselves. It’s a brilliant upgrade for the club and the local cricketing community. As for the signage, it gave the project a sense of completion. It brought everything together visually and helped tell the story of the people and support behind it.
Results
The completed signage brought cohesion and professionalism to the club’s new facilities. It transformed a functional installation into a fully branded, community-backed space. Supporters and sponsors were given visible recognition, Health & Safety messaging was clear and accessible, and the club now has a training environment that reflects both its ambition and its roots. For Caistor Cricket Club, it wasn’t just about adding signs, it was about creating a space that feels finished, looked after, and full of local character.
