Objective
The client aimed to enhance the visual appeal of one of their training machines by applying a custom wrap that reflected the company's branding. The design needed to reflect Vortex Training’s logo colours, align with their brand and bring a high-quality finish to the equipment.

Why Signs Express?
This collaboration began through a recommendation from Pat Flannery at NTS, who referred Vortex to Signs Express Leeds. Account Manager Rick Nurse led the project from initial discussions through to completion.

Challenges
- Creative Direction: Vortex gave the Signs Express (Leeds) team creative freedom to develop a design that reflected their brand while also being eye-catching.
- Surface Complexity: Applying vinyl to machinery with curved surfaces and industrial finishes demanded a skilled, precise approach.

Solution
Signs Express Leeds approached the brief through design first, focusing on how the wrap could complement both function and form.
Three wrap concepts were developed after initial consultation, each built around Vortex’s core colours and adapted to the machine’s structure.
Client feedback shaped the final selection, which included:
- Consistent use of Vortex’s colours for brand recognition
- A layout that combined durability with visibility
- Highlight the rear counterweight to create visual impact

Execution
Installation was carried out using vinyl chosen for both its resilience and smooth finish. The team prepared the surfaces thoroughly, applied the wrap with precision, and performed detailed checks to ensure a crisp, professional outcome.
Throughout the project, consistent communication helped ensure expectations were met and timelines stayed on track.

Results
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The finished wrap gave the training machine a bold new presence, making it an instant standout within its environment. Vortex Training were quick to share their enthusiasm, describing the final result as “even more impressive in person.” A particular highlight was the back counterweight, which became the client’s favourite part of the design.
- Q. How long will a custom machine wrap last?Collapse
A high-quality machine wrap can last between three to five years when professionally applied. Longevity depends on factors such as the surface preparation, quality of materials, usage, and environmental exposure.
- Q. Will my machine be out of use for long during the wrap process?Expand
Standard wraps can be applied in a day, while full wraps may take two to three days depending on the size and complexity.
- Q. What colours should I use for my vehicle wrap?Expand
Choose colours that reflect your brand identity. Ensure there's strong contrast so your design stays bold, clear and easy to read.
- Q. Will a machine wrap damage the surface?Expand
No. In fact, a professionally applied wrap, can help protect the machine’s original surface from wear and exposure. When it’s time for removal or an update, we recommend professional removal to ensure a clean finish.
