OUR WORK
Latton Park - the new home of the RAMS
After more than 50 years at Ram Gorse, Harlow Rugby Club moved to a brand-new purpose-built home in the centre of Harlow, now known as Latton Park. The move was a big moment for the club, and they wanted the site to look the part from day one. That meant strong, consistent branding on the outside of the ground and clear wayfinding inside and around the pitches, ready for players, supporters and visitors.

Project overview
Signs Express (Harlow) were brought in to support the main contractor, Hutton Construction, and worked directly with club officers to plan and deliver the signage package for the new facility.
The site includes four adult pitches, two mini pitches, floodlighting to the training and 1st XV pitches and a two-storey clubhouse designed in line with RFU and Sport England guidelines. As a Community Amateur Sports Club, Harlow Rugby Club also opens its doors to other not-for-profit groups in the area who need a base.
External Signage
The first priority was the approach to the club. We supplied and installed large panel-and-post signs at the entrance, so the club is easy to spot and simple to find. One of the standout features is the gabion wall at the front of the site, which now carries brushed stainless steel “Harlow RUFC” lettering. The metal lettering sits neatly against the stone, giving the entrance a clean, confident look that feels permanent and in keeping with the new surroundings.
As the rest of the site took shape, we continued to add directional signs around the grounds so visitors can move easily between the clubhouse, car park and pitches.
Internal signage
When the new clubhouse was handed over to the trustees in September 2017, our focus moved indoors. The building needed clear, practical signposting that still matched the club’s new identity. We designed, supplied and fitted a full set of internal signs, including door plates for changing rooms and offices, wayfinding panels to guide people through the building, and acrylic display panels for key information and branding.
The aim inside was simple: make it easy for people to understand where they need to be, whether they’re a first-time visitor, a junior player or part of the senior squad, while keeping everything visually consistent with the Latton Park look.
Branding and Sponsorship
As the club settled into Latton Park, sponsorship became an important part of the project. We were asked to help bring those partner relationships to life around the pitches. The most recent phase included installing twenty aluminium panel-and-post boards along the pitch side, each carrying the branding of individual sponsors. On top of that, three larger boards were produced for the club’s main sponsors: solicitors Whiskers LLP, estate agents Geoffrey Matthews, and commercial vehicle specialists Harlow Truck Centre.
These signs do more than just promote local businesses. They help frame the pitches, give match days a more professional feel and provide the club with a visible, well-presented way to recognise its key supporters.
Outcome
The quality of the new facilities hasn’t gone unnoticed. In November 2017, Latton Park was chosen to host the international fixture between England Deaf and New Zealand Deaf, a clear sign that the venue now meets a very high standard on and off the field.
From entrance features to pitch-side boards, this has been a long-running partnership rather than a one-off job. We’ve been involved from the early construction phase right through to ongoing additions as the club grows into its new home. For us, it’s been about more than just putting up signs – it’s been about helping Harlow Rugby Club present a clear, modern identity at a landmark new facility for the town.
