When the newly redeveloped Sanderson Arcade was ready to reopen, the team behind the centre wanted to get people talking. Instead of relying on posters or billboards, they decided to turn a fleet of local taxis into moving adverts that couldn’t be missed.

They approached Signs Express Newcastle to handle the full wrap job — from design through to installation.

What We Did

We worked closely with Dransfield Properties, who manage Sanderson Arcade, to get the design just right. The brief was bold and simple: wrap every taxi in the centre’s signature purple and add key graphics promoting the reopening.

Each vehicle was fully prepped in our workshop. They were cleaned, stripped of fittings, and measured carefully before the vinyl went on. We used high-performance cast film to make sure the colour stayed rich and smooth, even under constant road use.

Once wrapped, the taxis looked incredible. The deep purple finish was unlike anything else on the streets. Bright, sharp, and instantly recognisable.

The Impact

As soon as the taxis hit the road, people noticed. The bold colour and clean branding stood out in traffic and through town centres, sparking curiosity and conversation. It did exactly what the client wanted: made sure everyone knew Sanderson Arcade was back open for business.
