FoodWorks aim is to provide people with opportunities they would not ordinarily have access to – it is an enterprise involved in the training & development of adults with disabilities, specifically those with multiple complex needs and learning difficulties. To celebrate FoodWork's 2nd birthday they have taken over the café at Bradford's St St Peters House, Kala Sangam South Asian Arts Centre – this meant that a range of internal and external signage was required to promote the café. Ian Dawson, Managing Director of Signs Express York said 'This was a fantastic project to be involved in, it is a super initiative and the signage looks great but more importantly it is a privilege to develop our relationship with Yorkshire Housing to create signage for a wide variety of schemes and initiatives which they are part of.' The FoodWorks team use the creativity of the catering, hospitality and retail industries as the tool to encourage basic core life skills. The kitchen also provides the space to prepare goods for their outside catering business. This catering business as well as a training centre for adults with learning disabilities is taking FoodWorks business to the next level. All involved are empowered to have the courage to do what it takes to really make a difference, whilst maintaining and providing excellent services both in health and social care and in catering and business.
